Buntar Aerospace, a Ukrainian defense tech startup building autonomous combat systems, led by Ivan Kaunov, Bohdan Sas, and Kateryna Bezsudna, has locked in a $16 million investment round led by Freedom Fund and a top-tier international private equity fund, joined by Gardar, Iron Wolf, and Autonomy Capital, taking the company's total funding to $30 million.

Buntar Aerospace deploys the Buntar-1 reconnaissance drone alongside Buntar Copilot, software designed to support drone operators in combat environments. Both products are already used by frontline units in Ukraine and generate revenue.

The new funding will support product development, increased production capacity, and the hiring of engineering and management talent.

Buntar is also expanding Buntar Copilot and taking its dual-use technology into global markets, with ambitions to move beyond reconnaissance and surveillance toward broader autonomous defense applications.

"Our systems fly, see, and make decisions on their own, allowing the operator to focus on what matters most. We focus on missions where human skill is critical: intelligence, counter-drone operations, and high-precision strike assistance. This is what Ukraine needs today, and this is what Europe must prepare for tomorrow. Battle-tested tech inevitably reshapes civilian life, and we plan to scale that front too," says Bohdan Sas, co-founder of Buntar Aerospace.
