Axiom Space, a Space-Tech company making the possibilities of low-Earth Orbit accessible to visionary governments, researchers, manufacturers, and individuals, led by Tejpaul Bhatia and a brilliant team of space scientists, astronauts, and enthusiasts, has launched the Axiom Space University Alliance, a global initiative designed to elevate scientific opportunities in microgravity research, technology development, research and development (R&D), and commercial innovation in low-Earth orbit (LEO).

With 15 partners across the U.S., Europe, and Australia, the Alliance is rapidly growing into the leading global network of academic institutions dedicated to advancing space science as the industry shifts from government-led to commercially operated space stations.

The Axiom Space University Alliance brings together academic institutions and research organizations worldwide under a shared vision: ensuring access to microgravity for research, innovation, and exploration remains a global priority as space transitions to a commercial era. Acting as a unified voice, the Alliance advocates for microgravity research and technology development, identifies gaps and opportunities to shape research agendas, and fosters international cooperation and resource sharing to address common challenges and unlock new opportunities.

As the commercial space ecosystem takes shape, Axiom Space is positioned to lead the transition by leveraging decades of U.S. spaceflight heritage and an unparalleled international network of researchers and experts. The Alliance will build a diverse, inclusive community of scientists, from veteran LEO users to institutions new to space-based research, while identifying priority opportunities and shaping global research agendas with broad input and strategic value. By doing so, Axiom Space strengthens U.S. leadership in space science while fostering a more connected and capable international research landscape.

With the Axiom Space University Alliance now officially launched, universities, industry leaders, and government agencies are invited to join this global effort. The Alliance is dedicated to ensuring that space science thrives, innovation remains inclusive and collaborative, and the transition to commercial space is shaped by a strong, united research community.
