Alchemab Therapeutics, pioneering the next generation of antibody therapeutics for hard-to-treat diseases, led by Jane Osbourn, OBE, FMedSci, PhD, and the team, has extended its Series A financing with a £25 million (USD $34m) investment from the British Business Bank – the Bank’s largest investment in a life sciences company to date. The funding will enable the company to build its clinical pipeline and grow its proprietary unique antibody dataset to more than a billion sequences.

Alchemab is developing first-in-class antibody therapeutics using its AI-powered Resiliome™ platform, which identifies naturally occurring antibodies found in individuals with exceptional resistance to hard-to-treat diseases.

The investment builds on the progress of the company’s lead program, ATLX-1282, an ALS antibody therapy licensed to Eli Lilly, and brings Alchemab’s total Series A funding to £109 million. The capital will support expansion of the company’s antibody database to one billion sequences and advance additional drug candidates into clinical development.

Jane Osbourn said the investment validates Alchemab’s AI-driven drug discovery platform and will accelerate the development of first-in-class antibody therapeutics for diseases with significant unmet medical needs.

Kate Bingham said the funding highlights the importance of long-term capital in helping innovative UK biotech companies scale globally.

Charlotte Lawrence described Alchemab as a leader in UK life sciences, noting that the investment will support the advancement of its therapeutic pipeline.

Carmine Circelli highlighted Alchemab’s combination of proprietary antibody data and AI, saying the funding will help translate promising research into new medical treatments.
